Preparing an application for approval to conduct research with human subjects for the first time can be daunting. In fact, student researchers are held to the same standards as faculty researchers. Procedures for protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects are the same, no matter who conducts the research.

The staff of the Campus Institutional Review Board for Protecting Research Subjects (Lorna, Holly, and Peg) have developed resources to guide you through the application process. The final product will be an approved research protocol.
