Synopsis

Miscellaneous accounts (39X) are established for external funds that require no financial reporting and are received through mechanisms other than the standard proposal and award process. Examples include all gifts, conference and symposium fees for events sponsored by Duke, editorships, executive education programs, and corporate scholarship programs.

PROCEDURES: ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DEPT^*	:: Prepares and signs form.
ORS^*	:: AD/P^* reviews documentation and approves request :: Sends approved request to OSP^*.
OSP^*	:: Issues WBS Element :: Notifies department and ORS^* of new code

DOCUMENTATION: OFFICES OF RECORD
ORS^*	Retains copies of the Miscellaneous WBS Element Request Form, OSP^* notification, and supporting documentation

SPECIAL NOTES
Copies of any back-up, such as a gift letter, should be forwarded to ORS^* along with the request form.
