Roni Avissar of Civil Engineering has received an award from the Army Research Office for a project entitled "Measurement of ABL Turbulent Fluxes with the Duke University HOP." Total funding will be $50,000 over 9 months.

Robert P. Behringer of Physics has received an award from the Army Research Office for a project entitled "Multiscale Phenomena in the Solid-Liquid Transition State of a Granular Material." Total funding will be $240,617 over 24 months.

Alma G. Blount of Public Policy Studies has received an award from Middlebury College for student Priscilla Baek, for a project entitled "Beyond the Border: Reconciling Relations Among College-aged South Korean and North Korean Refugees." Total funding will be $10,000 over 5 months.

Linda M. Burton of the Social Science Research Institute has received an award from the University of North Carolina for a project entitled "Family Life Project: Children in Rural Poverty - Risk and Protective Mechanisms." Total funding will be $181,765 over 2 months.
