Stanley Abe of Art, Art History & Visual Studies has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "An International Colloquium on Chinese Sculpture in the Late Qing Dynasty, 1870-1911." Total funding will be $4,000 over 12 months.

Susan C. Alberts of Biology has received an award from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique for a project entitled "Consequences of Genetic Diversity on Social and Sexual Behaviors in Two Primate Species." Total funding will be $304,286 over 24 months.

John H. Aldrich of the Social Science Research Institute has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "EITM Summer Training Institute." Total funding will be $846,166 over 36 months.

Richard T. Barber of the Marine Lab has received an award from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute for a project entitled "Interannual and decadal climate variability effects on primary productivity, food web structure and anchovy abundance in the coastal upwelling ecosystem of Peru." Total funding will be $230,415 over 12 months.

Marc F. Bellemare of Public Policy Studies has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Development Economics Conference." Total funding will be $2,500 over 12 months.

Tina M. Campt of Womens Studies has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Imaging Black Britain: Archive, Photography and the African Diaspora." Total funding will be $5,000 over 12 months.

James S. Clark of the Nicholas School has received an award from the University of Georgia for a project entitled "Coweeta LTER." Total funding will be $15,000 over 5 months.

Wendy T. Ewald of Documentary Studies has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Literacy Through Photography: Teacher Training in Tanzania." Total funding will be $5,000 over 12 months.

Gary Gereffi of the Social Science Research Institute has received an award from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation for a project entitled "The Effect of Immigrant Entrepreneurs on Key U.S. Technology Centers." Total funding will be $35,000 over 7 months.

Karen M. Glynn of Perkins Libraries has received an award from the National Film Preservation Foundation for a project entitled "H. Lee Waters Film Collection." Total funding will be $50,000 over 14 months.

Jonathan L. Goodall of the Nicholas School has received an award from RENCI for a project entitled "RENCI Project." Total funding will be $19,993 over 9 months.

Warren M. Grill of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Low Impedance Electrodes for Neural Stimulation." Total funding will be $375,330 over 24 months.

Patrick N. Halpin of the Nicholas School has received an award from the University of St. Andrews for a project entitled "DTAG Telemetry Tracking of Killer Whales in Support of Acoustic Exposure Studies." Total funding will be $2,911 over 15 months.

Judith A. Horowitz of the School of Law has received an award from the Japan Foundation for a project entitled "The Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu Program for Japanese Law and Culture at Duke Law School." Total funding will be $50,000 over 12 months.

Judith Kelley of the Social Science Research Institute has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Analyzing the Effects on International Election Monitoring (Supplement)." Total funding will be $27,974 over 23 months.

Helen F. Ladd of the Center for Child and Family Policy has received an award from the Urban Institute for a project entitled "C-LLED." Total funding will be $1,774,997 over 58 months.

Peter E. Malin of Earth & Ocean Sciences has received an award from Iceland GeoSurvey for a project entitled "Geothermal Fracture Field Mapping in the Krafla Region." Total funding will be $75,193 over 12 months.

Seymour Mauskopf of History has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Symposium: Between Text and Patient: The Medical Enterprise in Medieval and Early Modern Europe." Total funding will be $5,000 over 12 months.

Dewey G. McCafferty of Chemistry has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Mechanistic Analyses of Protein Deacetylation." Total funding will be $220,743 over 12 months.

Rob Mitchell of English has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Biofutures: Owning Body Parts and Information." Total funding will be $4,000 over 12 months.

Kristen Neuschel of History has received an award from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation for a project entitled "Living by the Sword: The Changing Culture of War, 1400-1600." Total funding will be $2,500 over 12 months.

Roger W. Nightingale of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from the University of Pennsylvania for a project entitled "IT Support for UPenn JARI Project." Total funding will be $5,487 over 10 months.

Jenni W. Owen of the Center for Child and Family Policy has received an award from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation for a project entitled "Professional Development Initiative - Phase 5." Total funding will be $25,238 over 12 months.

Richard Payne of the Duke Institute on Care at the End of Life  has received an award from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for a project entitled "Care at the End of Life Conference." Total funding will be $20,000 over 6 months.

Susan H. Rodger of Computer Science has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "An Innovative Approach for Attracting Students to Computing: A Comprehensive Proposal: Duke Site." Total funding will be $161,437 over 36 months.

Kimerly R. Rorschach of the Art Museum has received an award from the John Wesley & Anna Hodgin Hanes Foundation for a project entitled "Irwin Kremen: Beyond Black Mountain (1966 to 2006)." Total funding will be $5,000 over 3 months.

Cindy L. Van Dover of the Marine Lab has received an award from Nautilus Minerals Inc. for a project entitled "Characterization and Comparison of the Invertebrate Faunas." Total funding will be $56,161 over 11 months.

Keith E. Whitfield of the Social Science Research Institute has received an award from the Johns Hopkins University for a project entitled "Experience Corps Trial: Improving Health of Older Populations through Generativity." Total funding will be $24,501 over 5 months.

Rebecca M. Willett of Electrical Engineering has received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Data-Starved Inference on Point Processes." Total funding will be $400,000 over 48 months.
