Edna Andrews of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies has received an award from the Department of Education for a project entitled "Title VI National Resource Center/Foreign Language & Area Studies Fellowships." Total funding will be $1,344,000 over 36 months.

David Beratan of Chemistry has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Mapping of Electron Tunneling Pathways in Proteins, (second revision)." Total funding will be $918,600 over 48 months.

Andrea L. Bertozzi of Mathematics has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "FRG-Collaborative Research: New Challenges in the Dynamics of Thin Films and Fluid Interfaces." Total funding will be $842,609 over 36 months.

Celia J. Bonaventura of the Marine Lab has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Supplement - NSF K-12 Teaching Program." Total funding will be $117,750 over 22 months.

April Brown of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for a project entitled "DURIP Equipment Request: A Streak Camera for Time-Resolved Photoluminescence Characterization of Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Heterostructures and Nanostructures." Total funding will be $96,000 over 12 months.

Krishnendu Chakrabarty of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Investigations into Droplet-Based Microelectrofluidic Technology for Hot Spot Cooling and Thermal Management in Integrated Circuits." Total funding will be $250,000 over 36 months.

Steven E. Churchill of Biological Anthropology has received an award from the L.S.B. Leakey Foundation for a project entitled "Utility of lower limb cross-sectional geometry for inferring prehistoric mobility." Total fundi will be $5,000 over 24 months.

Leslie M. Collins of Electrical Engineering has received an award from AETC, Inc. for a project entitled "UX-1315, EMI Sensor Optimized for UXO Discrimination." Total funding will be $225,000 over 36 months.

Leslie M. Collins of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Army for a project entitled "Software Analysis/Algorithm Development for Countermine Detection Systems." Total funding will be $75,000 over 19 months.

Bruce H. Corliss of the Division of Earth and Ocean Sciences has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Development of Environmental Proxies for Coastal Environments." Total funding will be $338,000 over 36 months.

Larry B. Crowder of the Marine Lab has received an award from the Oak Foundation for a project entitled "Global Fellows in Marine Conservation." Total funding will be $91,306 over 24 months.

John E. Dolbow of Civil Engineering has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: Surface and Actuation Kinetics of Stimulus-Responsive Hydrogels." Total funding will be $226,609 over 36 months.

Xinnian Dong of DCMB has received an award from the Department of Agriculture for a project entitled "Characterization of the direct-target genes of NPR1 in systemic acquired resistance." Total funding will be $289,998 over 36 months.

Judson D. Edeburn of the Nicholas School has received an award from Brookhaven National Labs for a project entitled "Forest-Atmosphere Carbon Transfer and Storage (FACTS) Duke Forest Blackwood Division Site: Site Maintenance and Support." Total funding will be $53,408 over 12 months.

Silvia Ferrari of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from Space Grant for a project entitled "Modeling of Distributed Space-Based Sensors." Total funding will be $3,000 over 12 months.

Linda P. Franzoni of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from Space Grant for a project entitled "A Novel Boundary Element Approach for the Prediction of Aircraft Interior Noise." Total funding will be $3,000 over 12 months.

Morton H. Friedman of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from Army Medical Research for a project entitled "A Likelihood Ratio Classifier for Computer-Aided Diagnosis in Mammography." Total funding will be $90,000 over 37 months.

Total funding will be $50,016 over 12 months.

John H. Willis of Biology has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "REU: A genome-wide investigation of factors causing postzygotic isolation." Total funding will be $6,000 over 15 months.
