Roni Avissar of Civil Engineering has received an award from the Lord Foundation of North Carolina for a project entitled "Architecture & Engineering at Pratt." Total funding will be $7,400 over 24 months.

James T. Beale of Mathematics has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Computational Methods for Singular and Nearly Singular Integrals with Applications to Fluid Dynamics." Total funding will be $142,915 over 36 months.

Philip N. Benfey of DCMB has received an award from the Environmental Protection Agency for a project entitled "Coastal Estuaries Under Climate Change." Total funding will be $13,000 over 12 months.

Philip N. Benfey of DCMB has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Arabidopsis 2010: Genomics Approaches to Finding Transcriptional Networks (Supplement)." Total funding will be $6,896 over 4 months.

Fred K. Boadu of Civil Engineering has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Assessment of Groundwater Vulnerability to Pesticides Contamination in Farmlands within Nsawam District, Ghana (Supplement)." Total funding will be $7,150 over 6 months.

Celia J. Bonaventura of the Marine Lab has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Supplement to NSF K-12 Program." Total funding will be $98,500 over 12 months.

Krishnendu Chakrabarty of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "US/Japan Collaboration: Efficient Test and Diagnosis Techniques for System-on-Chip." Total funding will be $35,100 over 24 months.

Ndaona Chokani of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for a project entitled "Large-Bandwidth, Phase-Locked Measurements for High-Speed Flow Experiments with Controlled Disturbance Inputs." Total funding will be $87,278 over 12 months.

Robert L. Clark, Jr. of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from CSA Engineering, Inc. for a project entitled "Optimally Distrubuted Sensors and Actuators." Total funding will be $152,231 over 25 months.

Leslie M. Collins of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Army for a project entitled "Software Algorithm Improvements for Humanitarian Demining Handheld Stand-off Mine Detection System (SUPPLEMENT)." Total funding will be $100,000 over 14 months.

Silvia Ferrari of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from the Office of Naval Research for a project entitled "Adaptive Sensor Management and Situation Assessment for Surveillance Systems." Total funding will be $274,136 over 36 months.

Joel L. Fleishman of Public Policy Studies has received an award from the Ford Foundation for a project entitled "Duke Foundation Research Program." Total funding will be $500,000 over 48 months.

Richard B. Forward, Jr. of the Marine Lab has received an award from North Carolina State University for a project entitled "Seasonal Pattern of Blue Crab Post-Larval Immigration into an Estuary." Total funding will be $68,010 over 24 months.

Daniel J. Gauthier of Physics has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Feedback Control of Bifurcations in Spatially-Extended Cardiac Muscle (Supplement)." Total funding will be $3,000 over 27 months.

Gary Gereffi of Sociology has received an award from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for a project entitled "Globalization, Economic Development and Employment." Total funding will be $37,824 over 9 months.

Kenneth C. Hall of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from the Lord Foundation of North Carolina for a project entitled "4th Annual MEMS Engineering Design Contest." Total funding will be $3,000 over 24 months.

Allan Kornberg of Political Science has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Electoral Choice and Political Support in Contemporary Canada: Changing Choices and Rival Models." Total funding will be $150,255 over 18 months.

Jie Liu of Chemistry has received an award from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for a project entitled "Large Scale Synthesis and Chemical Modificaton of Small Diameter Carbon Nanotubes for Composite Materials." Total funding will be $178,684 over 24 months.

Warren H. Meck of Psychological and Brain Sciences has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Undergraduate Neuroscience Summer Research Program in Mechanisms of Behavior." Total funding will be $380,781 over 48 months.

William F. Morris of Biology has received a fellowship award from the National Science Foundation for student Jeri L. Parrent, for a project entitled "DISSERTATION RESEARCH: Changes in ecomycorrhizal fungal communities along a nitrogen deposition gradient and their consequences for host tree performance." Total funding will be $11,932 over 24 months.

Ballentine, for a project entitled "DISSERTATION RESEARCH: Implications of production constraints for the function of vocal performance in mate choice." Total funding will be $10,000 over 23 months.

Lincoln F. Pratson of Earth & Ocean Sciences has received an award from the University of Minnesota for a project entitled "Experimental Study of Basin Stratigraphy." Total funding will be $10,000 over 4 months.

Mark D. Rausher of Biology has received a fellowship award from the National Science Foundation for student Mario Vallejo-Marin, for a project entitled "DISSERTATION RESEARCH: Assessing the general importance of frequency-dependent selection in plant breeding systems: Evolution of male biased sex allocation." Total funding will be $11,511 over 24 months.

Daniel Richter, Jr. of the Nicholas School has received an award from the Center for Environmental Science for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: Modeling the Impacts of Post-Settlement Sediment Deposition on Floodplain Vegetation." Total funding will be $20,054 over 8 months.

Cynthia Riginos of Biology has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "REU-Collaborative Research: Extreme discordance between allozyme and non-allozyme introgression in Baltic Mussels." Total funding will be $6,000 over 27 months.

Daniel Rittschof of the Marine Lab has received an award from Interlux (Akzo Nobel) for a project entitled "Rapid Empirical Development of Novel Antifouling Technology." Total funding will be $8,692 over 9 months.

Kathy A. Silbiger of the Institute of the Arts has received an award from the New England Foundation for the Arts for a project entitled "Ballet Hispanico Tour Fee Support." Total funding will be $2,200 over 6 months.

John W. Terborgh of the Nicholas School has received an award from the Conservation, Food & Health Foundation for a project entitled "Rare and Endangered Carnivores of Amazonia." Total funding will be $14,685 over 12 months.

George A. Truskey of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from the Lord Foundation of North Carolina for a project entitled "Development of a New Course: Design Projects in Cellular and Biomolecular Engineering." Total funding will be $9,500 over 24 months.

Total funding will be $6,300 over 12 months.
