Stanley Abe of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies has received an award from the American Philosophical Society for a project entitled "Moving Buddha." Total funding will be $5,000 over 1 month.

Roni Avissar of Civil Engineering has received an award from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for a project entitled "Measurement of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Turbulent Fluxes with the Duke University Helicopter Observation Platform (HOP)." Total funding will be $209,572 over 12 months.

Richard T. Barber of the Marine Lab has received an award from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute for a project entitled "Interannual and decadal climate variabioity effects on primary productivity, food web structure and anchovy abundance in the coastal upwelling ecosystem or Peru." Total funding will be $21,007 over 12 months.

Emily S. Bernhardt of Biology has received a CAREER award supplement from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Potential for the recovery of biogeochemical function in degraded stream ecosystems." Total funding will be $12,000 over 49 months.

April Brown of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Army Research Office for a project entitled "In Vacuo X-Ray and Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy Analytical System." Total funding will be $82,750 over 12 months.
