Robert P. Behringer of Physics has received an award from the US-Israel Binational Science Foundation for a project entitled "Statics and Quasi-Statics in Granular Matter." Total funding will be $18,002 over 12 months.

Philip N. Benfey of DCMB has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "Cell Identity and Differentiation in Stimulus Response." Total funding will be $134,340 over 36 months.

Mary L. Bryan of History has received an award from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission for a project entitled "The Jane Addams Papers." Total funding will be $54,105 over 12 months.

James S. Clark of the Nicholas School has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: SEI (BIO)-Automated Methods for Generating High-Resolution GIS Databases from Remotely Sensed Data for Biodiversity Predictions." Total funding will be $1,247,842 over 59 months.

Steven A. Cummer of Electrical Engineering has received an award from Boeing Company for a project entitled "Negative Index Materials." Total funding will be $84,934 over 13 months.

Fernando R. Fernholz of the Duke Center for International Development has received an award from the Research Triangle Institute for a project entitled "Development of the Municipal Finance Task Force (MFTF) Website." Total funding will be $72,067 over 24 months.

Mary M. Fulkerson of Divinity has received an award from the Wabash Center for a project entitled "Workshops for Pedagogies of Empowerment in Racially and Ethnically Diverse Classrooms." Total funding will be $5,000 over 11 months.

Deborah R. Gallagher of the Nicholas School has received an award from the Environmental Protection Agency for a project entitled "The Impact of State Level Brownfields Program Public Participation Mechanisms on Disadvantaged Community Involvement in Decision-Making: A Case Comparison." Total funding will be $92,131 over 24 months.

Jeffrey T. Glass of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the United States Display Consortium for a project entitled "Ultrabarrier Permeation Rate Measurement." Total funding will be $149,922 over 12 months.

Patrick N. Halpin of the Nicholas School has received an award from the David & Lucile Packard Foundation for a project entitled "Geospatial Analysis Tool Development for Marine Ecosystem-based Management & Conservation Planning." Total funding will be $246,974 over 24 months.

Jeffrey A. Karson of Earth & Ocean Sciences has received an award from the Joint Oceanographic Institute for a project entitled "Salary Support for JOI Expedition 312 (Dr. Nicholas Hayman)." Total funding will be $16,941 over 3 months.

Richard F. Kay of Biological Anthropology has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Evaluating the contribution of Late Cretaceous Biogeography to Earliest Cenozoic Biodiversity." Total funding will be $72,827 over 9 months.

Jeffrey L. Krolik of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Office of Naval Research for a project entitled "Adaptive Signal Processing for Advanced Over-the-Horizon HF Radars." Total funding will be $400,001 over 36 months.

Karl G. Linden of Civil Engineering has received an award from Phoenix Science and Technology, Inc. for a project entitled "UV Inactivation Tests and Analyses." Total funding will be $8,000 over 6 months.

M. Susan Lozier of Earth & Ocean Sciences has received an award from the Office of Naval Research for a project entitled "A Focus on the Scientific Contributions by Women to the Field of Physical Oceanography (supplement)." Total funding will be $62,940 over 10 months.

Robert A. Malkin of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from Engineering World Health for a project entitled "The Engineering World Health Summer Institute." Total funding will be $389,850 over 24 months.

Warren H. Meck of Psychological and Brain Sciences has received an award from Boston University for a project entitled "Aging of Brain: Effects of Perinatal Choline Exposure." Total funding will be $140,000 over 6 months.

Mohamed A. Noor of Biology has received an award from the National Science Foundation for a project entitled "Chromosomal Inversions and the Persistence of Species." Total funding will be $223,125 over 11 months.

Kevin A. Pelphrey of Psychological and Brain Sciences has received an award from the National Institute of Mental Health for a project entitled "Functional Neuroimaging of Children with Autism." Total funding will be $548,318 over 48 months.

Nimmi Ramanujam of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command for a project entitled "Optical Spectroscopy and Multiphoton Imaging for the Diagnosis and Characterization Hyperplasias in the Mouse Mammary Gland." Total funding will be $57,221 over 24 months.

Kathryn Whetten of Center for Health Policy, Law & Management has received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled "From Intervention Development to Services." Total funding will be $571,589 over 23 months.

Christina Williams of Psychological and Brain Sciences has received an award from Boston University for a project entitled "Age of Brain: Effects of Perinatal Nutrition Project 3: Mechanisms Underlying Choline Enhancement of Memory." Total funding will be $200,000 over 6 months.

Ronald G. Witt of History has received an award from the National Endowment for the Humanities for a project entitled "Petrarch and Provence: Between Seclusion and the World." Total funding will be $108,088 over 12 months.

Gary A. Ybarra of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Progress Energy Foundation for a project entitled "Teachers And Scientists Collaborating Project." Total funding will be $50,000 over 5 months.
