Adrian Bejan of Mechanical Engineering has received an award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for a project entitled "Constructal Technology of Thermal Management of Aircraft (supplement)." Total funding will be $23,370 over 2 months. John A. Board, Jr. of Electrical Engineering has received an award from the Lord Foundation of North Carolina for a project entitled "Infrastructure & Course Development Support for Computer Engineering Capstone Courses." Total funding will be $19,000 over 11 months. Caroline Bruzelius of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies has received an award from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation for a project entitled "Venice Program." Total funding will be $16,000 over 10 months. Krishnendu Chakrabarty of Electrical Engineering has received an award from Advanced Liquid Logic for a project entitled "Nanoliter Lab-on-a-Chip for Protein Crystallization." Total funding will be $62,062 over 10 months. Ashutosh Chilkoti of Biomedical Engineering has received an award from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center for a project entitled "Smart Polypeptide Nanocarriers for Tumor Chemotherapy." Total funding will be $100,000 over 24 months. Stephen L. Craig of Chemistry has received an award from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign for a project entitled "Subcontract: Mechanochemically - Active Polymer Composites." Total funding will be $72,000 over 65 months. Kenneth A. Dodge of the Center for Child and Family Policy has received a program-project grant award from the National Institutes of Health, for a program entitled "Duke Transdisciplinary Prevention Research Center." Total funding will be $1,199,327 over 11 months. It includes the following projects:- a project headed by Philip R. Costanzo, which will receive total funding of $155,147. - a project headed by Kenneth A. Dodge, which will receive total funding of $469,252. - a project headed by Rick Hoyle, which will receive total funding of $230,050. - a project headed by Joel B. Rosch, which will receive total funding of $80,117. - a project headed by Timothy Strauman, which will receive total funding of $43,633. - a project headed by Jacob L. Vigdor, which will receive total funding of $183,965. - An additional $37,163 is attributed to the program. This includes funds awarded for projects outside of Duke, as well as funds not yet assigned to projects.
