When funds awarded for a budget period have not been spent by the end of that budget period, some sponsors will allow the unspent funds to be carried into the next budget period without written approval. Some will not. There may also be variations from program to program within a single agency. Check your ORS^* New Award Notice for the sponsor's policy. If a sponsor requires written approval to carry over funds, the letter of request must be authorized by your ORS^* contact before submission.
