Researcher certification consists of an initial certification process and a continuing education program.

Before research can be approved, researchers (and if they are students, their advisors) must complete the on-line module History and Ethical Principles at the web site of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI^*).

When you go to the CITI^* site, be sure to register as a Duke University user, not DCRI or Duke Medical Center.

When you have completed the module and passed the quiz, CITI^* will notify the IRB^* office.  We will then enter the date you completed the module in your transcript.

If you completed training programs or on-line modules at another institution before coming to Duke, let us know. We may be able to give you credit here.
